It has been 6 years that we have been dealing with a proposal for an industrial operation in the midst of our agricultural and rural residential communities. The Provincial announcement of a Ministerial Zoning Order on Tuesday April 13th was a major step towards ending this assault on our communities. This zoning order effectively prevents the establishment of an open pit limestone quarry.

While we can expect that there will still be some challenges ahead of us, momentum is definitely on our side. Please join your neighbours this weekend for a celebration of this major milestone in our opposition. Let us take this opportunity to both celebrate the freezing of the zoning on the proposed Flamborough Quarry property and to thank all of those who made this possible. We hope to see you there.
