FORCE Annual General Meeting 2010

Special Guests Update

In addition to Monte Hummel, President Emeritus of the World Wildlife Fund Canada we have made arrangements to have Chris Barnett of Davis LLP, a member of our Community Legal Team, join our AGM next Tuesday.

Monte will be explaining the importance of local battles such as ours in terms of the impact they can have on a provincial and national scale.

Chris will be sharing his perspective on the significance of the recent Provincial Municipal Zoning Order decision, as well as outlining why it is important that we keep up our efforts at this critical phase in our opposition.

St Marys Cement continues to march forward with its plans. In addition to filing an application to have the MZO revoked, it has now applied for a Permit To Take Water in support of further groundwater testing on the proposed site.

Our work is not done yet, come learn more about this next phase in our opposition.

(We remind everyone reading this information to think of those in our community who may not be connected to the internet and ask that you take steps to ensure that they have access to this information. Perhaps you could drop it by their home, or perhaps you could print several copies and take it with you to services or the arena \ playing field this weekend. We will succeed by working together; let's do everything we can to make sure that everyone can stay involved. Thanks.)
